Previous training has included ‘Introduction to Makaton’, ‘Making the Most of Boardmaker’ and ‘Attachment: Pupils, Parents and Practitioners’.

Other available courses include ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder – Mythbusting and Factsharing’ and bespoke workshops for any audience whether it be professionals, parents or school pupils. We can also host and coordinate training by other practitioners into areas of interest upon request, particularly for community groups, parents/carers and local practitioners, such as our Moving and Handling with Hoist Training which was hosted by Alta ASN and delivered by a certified Training for Care trainer.

Please get in touch with your training requests, we can offer courses and workshops across Scotland on site or at a venue near you.

Alta ASN’s mission is to support families with all aspects of raising a child with additional needs, and that includes the extra information handling and procedural obligations that come with it. Support is available to parents and carers in terms of form filling, preparation for meetings, school applications, appeal procedures and personal statements.

All support is tailored to the family’s needs and can be on site, the family home, or in a comfortable informal meeting place. Group coffee mornings and discussions can also provide the opportunity for sharing ideas and best practice for local parents and carers.

Families that are not local or prefer a different method of communication can opt to correspond via email, which can be found in the Contact section.
